Hastings author and psychogeographer, Gareth E Rees, reveals the historical echoes and hidden stories that cling to the familiar everyday places explored in his new book, Unofficial Britain: Journeys through unexpected places.

Enter a familiar yet alien landscape of industrial estates and electricity pylons, motorway service stations and haunted council houses, roundabouts and flyovers.

Zoom audiences will join our in-person micro audience for the socially-distanced live talk at The Pig’s Palace, which is now fully booked.

With live music from Matt Frost: Guitar, and Matt Bower (The Revenant Sea): Sample and drone

Gareth’s books include:

Marshland – ‘Essential reading – a psychedelic trip into London’s secret wilderness.’ John Rogers

The Stone Tide – ‘A work of breathtaking originality.’ Psychogeographic Review

Car Park Life – ‘A retail park Heart of Darkness.’ John Grindrod, author of Outskirts

Unofficial Britain- 'Unexpected and fascinating.' Melissa Harrison, author of All Among the Barley
